Kefir

I tried Kefir which is a fermented dairy drink. It was sort of like drinking yogurt. It kind of reminded me of buttermilk; I bought the unflavored kind for my grandmother who likes buttermilk and she liked it. I could feel the difference after the first bottle. I couldn't quite put my finger on it but it was just an overall good feeling. The Kefir I had had 7 live cultures in it; Amasi which is another fermented dairy product is said to have 31 live cultures in it.Here is the link to the Beyond Organic website that carries Amasi and other great products:

•Produces it own antibiotics, eliminates unfriendly bacteria
•Rebalances the intestinal flora and stomach acid to heal ulcers
•Regulates metabolism through improved digestion to benefit the colon.
•Leads to good heart action, blood circulation and blood pressure.
•Reduces serum cholesterol levels only IF they are too high for safety.
•Regulates bile and improves the liver/gall bladder to help fight hepatitis
•Acts on the immune system and so improves resistance to disease
•Produces anti-cancer compounds and prevents metastasis (spread)
•Allows eczema, acne and skin disorders to fade away
•Reduces anxiety and depression; increases energy and joy in living.
•Produces every vitamin and bacteria needed for healthy daily living

There's A Beautiful Body In There

I use to have a really nice figure and as I work out I am now seeing my old body slowly return. My stomach which had gotten out of hand is starting to go down but it is funny to watch it take shape again; also my arms are starting to tone up. It is as if my old body is breaking free.

Glorious Steam

I have been taking advantage of the steam room at my gym; here is a list of some of the benefits of steam
Respiratory Improvement
The large amount of moisture in a steam room offers particular benefits for respiratory problems including asthma, bronchitis, allergies, and sinus issues.
Blood Circulation
Heat in a steam room increases blood circulation, bringing more oxygen and nutrients throughout the body. Immune System
This heat also creates a rise in body temperature which boosts the immune system and helps detoxify the lymph system. Skin Benefits
Sweating opens pores and cleanses skin of dirt and dead skin cells, giving skin a healthy glow, and improving acne and other skin conditions.
Pain Relief
Steam heat also relieves joint and muscle pain, through relaxation, ease of tension, and bringing oxygen and nutrients to these areas.

Ab Circle Pro

I got an ab circle pro a while back and decided to share my thoughts on it with you

Pros
It really gives your abs a great work out
It supports a lot of weight; in other words you don't have to be a size two to use it but if you are severely obese it may not support your weight
Cons
It is not made out of metal for something that costs $200 I expected it to be metal
The cup that you put your knees in should have been longer at times it felt like my knees would slip out of it
It rocks sometimes but not to bad
Final Review: Ab Circle Pro gets a thumb up.

Young man, there's a place you can go. I said, young man, when you're short on your dough. You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find Many ways to have a good time. It's fun to stay at the y-m-c-a. It's fun to stay at the y-m-c-a. They have everything for you men to enjoy, You can hang out with all the boys ... It's fun to stay at the y-m-c-a. It's fun to stay at the y-m-c-a. You can get yourself cleaned, you can have a good meal, You can do whatever you feel ... Young man, are you listening to me? I said, young man, what do you want to be? I said, young man, you can make real your dreams. But you got to know this one thing! No man does it all by himself. I said, young man, put your pride on the shelf, And just go there, to the y.m.c.a. I'm sure they can help you today. It's fun to stay at the y-m-c-a. It's fun to stay at the y-m-c-a. You can get yourself cleaned, you can have a good meal, You can do whatever you feel ... Young man, I was once in your shoes. I said, I was down and out with the blues. I felt no man cared if I were alive. I felt the whole world was so tight ... That's when someone came up to me, And said, young man, take a walk up the street. There's a place there called the y.m.c.a. They can start you back on your way. It's fun to stay at the y-m-c-a. It's fun to stay at the y-m-c-a. They have everything for you men to enjoy, You can hang out with all the boys ... Y-m-c-a ... you'll find it at the y-m-c-a. Young man, young man, there's no need to feel down. Y-m-c-a ... just go to the y-m-c-a. Young man, young man, are you listening to me? Young man, young man, what do you wanna be?

After weighing options on what gym to join I came to the conclusion that for me the YMCA is the best choice so I joined!

Lettuce Eat!

Thursday was the last day of my fast. In the end I was ready to give up so I started eating more food. I did not eat meat until it was time to though. As I reflected today and yesterday I realized that I had defeated my food addiction there are things that I may want but I don't have to have them. I am going to enjoy some of my favorites over the next week and then I will eat the food I ate while fasting on some days and on others I'll have some of the things I want.

I Want to Lose My Stomach

I have lost enough weight to really see it but I want my stomach to be gone now. When I was smaller my stomach was board flat and the favorite part of my body. After children I have a stomach. I don't want one. I want to try the ab circle pro but in the mean time I will use a ball. I will tell you how it works.

Fast

I have been on the Daniel Fast for four days now. I have not drank anything but water and I have not had meat, sweets or leavened bread (I tried unleavened bread I'd rather do without). I am learning how to take control again. I am learning how to disciple myself.

A Thank You To PE Teachers

I have been a substitute teacher for a PE class the last couple of days. To all of the PE teachers out there thank you! One person to 20 plus children in the heat,in the cold...people don't realize the importance of what you do. I can remember one of my PE teachers vividly with little shorts and socks up to his needs shouting Pinkerton Love your heart!

No Turning Back

I have decided that I am sticking to it this time. I have been at this point before, where I had began to lose and I stopped when something happened but this time there is no turning back. I am at the point that I am sweating easily so my body is in fat burning mode and this time I won't quit!

Learn Something New!

I am 32 years old and I just learned to swim. I was nervous about being as old as I am and going to swimming lessons at a local pool but I am so glad I did. I was nervous about wearing a bathing suit but I am so glad I did. Once I got over my reservations it became a really great experience. I also played raquetball the other day for the first time, by myself. I'm sure the people walking by at the track wandered if I had it all because I had to laugh at myself at some of the balls I missed but it was awesome!

The Little Engine That Could

I walked a route that I use to walk when I was ten sizes smaller. I was nervous at first but after I started and after I finished I felt great.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

I Started Walking Today

I started walking today. I decided to walk to a store that was nearby. It was about a 30-45 minute walk there and back and I rewarded myself with a fruit juice that I drank on the way back home.

Juicy

I went to a local health food store and had fresh juice a few times during my fast and I liked it so I bought myself a juicer and I feel that it will enable me to get my daily servings of fruit and vegetables in. It also will help when I can't or don't want to eat. Contrary to popular belief alot of overweight people don't eat a whole lot. We just don't eat correctly. We're gonna change that!

My Friend Had Gastric Bypass Surgery

My friend had Gastric Bypass Surgery. She has been overweight all her life and has issues with her thyroid. In the last few years she developed sleep apnea (she stops breathing in her sleep) and has to sleep with a c-pack machine. She is a beautiful person and has a sense of style that women 3x smaller than her wish for. I cannot wait until her outer beauty completely matches her inner beauty. She is a pretty girl even with the weight. She is at home now recovering. The surgery went smoothly. We have to conquer this weight thing yall and live life to the fullest.

Tell the Truth; Shame the Devil

I wish this post could be one that tells you that I have reached all of my weight loss goals and that I am looking and feeling greater than I ever have but if I did I would be lying. I have not lost weight and I am still indulging in eating poorly but this post is not me giving up it is a post of hope and determination. I think my failure has been going about this thing carnally out of my own strength but this weight is a spiritual as well as natural battle. Obesity hinders you from living life to the fullest. It effects how you feel and what you do. I recently went on a fast with my church and it was no red meats, pork, sugar, any drink except for water, and bread. I stayed the course for 21 days but the fast helped me realize how strong my flesh had become (spiritually). On the last day of the fast I put myself on a total fast. Fasting was something that I did in the past from time to time but I had stopped now it is very hard for me to fast. A while ago God told me if I just exercised and stopped drinking soda I would loose weight...I didn't. Then God told me to give up soda...I made it into a fast then stopped after a while. The last warning God gave me was that if I did not stop drinking the soda my kidneys would be damaged...that got my attention because before he told me I had began to feel a heaviness and pulling beneath my stomach. I am going on a week of no soda and I will continue to add disciplines. I want to live and live abundantly.
